More time should be spent by the doctor with the patient when handling a discharge. No procedure on an animal should be discharged by no one other than a Veterinarian.

I have four small breed dogs. I know Dr. Halpern via Steve at the Woodside pet store for 20 years. We have never paid more than $500 for all four dogs. On 2/28/23 I made the four back-to-back innoculation appts with Sara at 11:48 AM for 3/16/23 at 3 PM. She said, It will not be more than $100 per dog. You will see a non-vet in the clinic for the shots. After seeing Dr. Ricardo Valdez who said our Schnauzer was over weight, all dogs had plaque and should be neutered, we were charged $706, after discount the girl said. We had to dig up cash $500 and put $206 on the card. This was outrageous. I want this brought to Dr. Helpern s attention. When we asked for Sara, she was not there and the girl who took the money said, Dr. Halpern is not here, call him Tuesday. Sara said you made a mistake and did not understand. For the wellness of our small dogs, they need their annual protection and must be current with Radies by law but we feel exploited by Letterts when we explain before coming in that I am 77 years old, on a fixed retirement income and do not need any extras because I can not afford them. Then, I get hit with a post COVID makeup bill of $706. Please have someone call me any day after 2 PM with an explanation. I feel very good about the service, but can not longer afford your prices. I want to take this moment to thank the veterinarian and his assistants for their service. I am completely and graciously satisfied foe the great service rendered to my dog Dolche Brooks. May the nursing attendants and doctors continue to render great and excellent service to all pets that come to Lefferts Animal Hospital.

Wait time was much too long. Appointment was at 10:40am and we had to wait almost an hour. Aside from that, everything else was great.

The doctors and other personnel went above and beyond to figure out how to give my dog Toby allergy shot. He was for some reason uncooperative but they didn’t give up and weren’t mean to Toby about his attitude which was pretty awful. Thank you all job well done!

I highly recommend, wish I knew about them earlier.Great staff and Veterinarians, not trying to bleed owners dry and saving lives seem foremost important. Saved my dogs life twice, my neighbors I referred to dog also is alive and well.

The vet and his assistabt were very kind and gentle with my dog and listened to my list of what I thought wS wrong with my dog. They gave me meds for her ear infection and discussed different drugs that I may use to take care of her arthritis.He was a godsend and I will return in the future because I like his gentle manner with my dog pal.

Doctors, nurses and other stuffs are excellent. They take care of my dog and us as perfectly. Cost of cares are reasonable. We are very happy to visit the Lefferts Animal Hospital.

Doctor Valdés vaccinated my dog and claimed to give a well visit examination that he did not complete- he only looked in my dogs mouth for less than 5 seconds and I was charged full price nonetheless. He asked me no questions about Pepinos habits. Only after insisting that someone do an abdominal and lung check (which Dr. Valdés had checked off as complete !!!) did Dr Halper do that part of the exam ... in the hallway . I requested online, as well as over the phone prior to my appointment and then in person approximately 4 times to 4 separate nurses and 1x to Dr Valdés himself that someone write a “letter of hood health” - approximately 3 sentences on hospital letterhead, signed by the vet, that would enable me to travel on airplane with my pet. After waiting over an hour in office on the day of Pepinos exam after the so-called “exam” dr Valdés gave (1/31/23 )and explaining myself for the 5th time did someone finally inform Dr. Halper who agreed to finish the exam and write the note. My SUGGESTION: if you can’t handle the volume of appointments being made ... then maybe you should take less patients per day. Neither my pet nor my wallet should suffer the effects of a rushed and incomplete examination. And I should not have had to wait an hour or call the office 16 times for 3 sentences typed on letterhead and signed by the receptionist - - in the doctors hand!!! thanks!!!!!!

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Provider was compassionate and thorough. Have always loved lefferts!

I had an appointment at 7:00 Pm and waited one hour. The wait is extremely too long.

When examining my dog during an annual, it would be nice to have the vet or nurse talk to me about what they are doing and if what they found good or bad or questionable.
