I live in Long Island and travel to Lefferts animal hospital because of the wonderful care they provide to my dogs. The vets take their time in explaining and are very caring. The vet techs are soo friendly and patient.

I notice that when the assistant takes my dog s temperature, they don t tell me what it is, I always have to ask. It makes me wonder why someone would think I didn t care whether my dog s temperature was normal or not. This is often the case with my own doctor s office, they take all these vitals and they don t tell me what the numbers are, I always have to ask. Very odd.

We’ve been going to Lefferts for years. The new person in the frontdesk needs to be more present and must improve her skills in multi-tasking. I’ve dealt with her a few times already and each time she makes little mistakes. Never had that experience with the previous person before.

My bill wasn’t explained to me. Dr. Birchler mentioned a lot of things to “try” to help Linda’s condition, but he didn’t confirm whether I wanted every item before adding them to my bill. He said I would get a chance to review the bill before paying, but I wasn’t given that chance.

I would have appreciated if the veterinarian informed me about the treatment plan. I did not know my dog was getting fluid treatment nor was I informed he was getting an injection to prevent vomiting. I found out when I was informed of the total cost of the visit.

We were there on 11-4-22 The only comment I have is that my dog was diagnosed with pancreatitis he was given fluids and the dr said he should be fine in a couple of days. He left the room un a hurry due to an emergency. We never got to ask any questions. We were charged almost $400- My dog died the next day. We are devastated.
