I was so happy to see Dr. Bjerke enter the office to do the wellness exam on my cat! I had him once before for the care of one of my dogs for removal of 2 benign fatty tumors on her back. I was so impressed with him and what he did for her and how he improved her quality of life and for that matter, mine too! I actually just requested that he be the Doc for both my dogs and my cat. He is absolutely wonderful with animals and is really personable with the humans too! I have had notes put on all their charts to have their appointments scheduled with him. They will get great care and I feel so blessed to have had him consent to being the Doc for my fur babies when asked. Thank you Dr. Bjerke!

Excellent execution of all services provided. My dog has never been healthier and had he been well when we were seen. Would of enjoyed all the attention. But he s back now to good health thanks to Cassleton Vet Clinic! And price was good too!

The only negative thing I could say about this visit is that I waited a rather long time to go over results. The tech told me about 10 minutes, and it was closer to 35 minutes. Either way, the staff are great, friendly, and helpful.

All staff members were delightful! The vet and vet assistant were so gentle and kind to my dragon, even though he was a bit squirmy and cranky. They listened to every concern I had with him and gave me education about caring for him in the best way possible. When I was given a soak for his toe after he lost a nail, the vet assistant demonstrated how to use it. I could not ask for a better environment for my dragon, and we will be back!

Dr. Thill and Dr. Weyer were both amazing. Their techs were very kind as well, however I can not remember their names. I am very protective of Nixon so I greatly appreciate how much time they gave to me even when it probably feels like I m questioning their knowledge. Nixon is obviously a different special boy so the care and kindness they showed was appreciated much much more than can be expressed. Thank you for caring about us as humans and our furry family members.

Dr Smid was very professional and did great. All test came back good & have her a shot. Zoe is doing ok not eating alot yet. The techs were great too. I ve been going here for about 30 years. I normally see Dr. Bjerke for my pets but he was busy with doing teeth.

My vet was the rudest vet I have ever seen and will never ever come back in agin. I was instructed to help lift my 70 pound dog into the exam table and hold her scared and muzzled. I hurt my back and said so immediately and nobody cared at all. I left hardly able to take a breath. My back is still out and I am having a hard time moving getting out of bed cannot care for my dogs. I have more to say but I will not. I was told to take my dog and meds out to my care first then come in and pay. I wanted a change in meds but because the meds were take. To my car before payment and a controlled substance, I had to pay for them. Never ever coming back and my review of your office will continue past this . Smug vet terrible! I can’t say enough! I go to the other castleton vet this was a huge mistake!!! I’m disgusted. I made sure your receptionist made not of the injury I sustained. It better be noted or else that will be a problem. If I need exrays it’s not going to be my dime. You had a trainee in and there are witnesses. Since when is it the responsibility of the owner to help with exams!!!!!????

Front desk staff very helpful and prompt. The provider, not so much. First, I expressed concern about shedding. The response from Dr. Boas and I quote “that is the least of my concerns”. I felt disregarded and unheard. In addition, Caesar comes in once a year. Any cat is going to be scared and stressed. Caesar did not bite. He did not scratch. He did not attack or hurt anyone. He growled as any feline would when getting a shot. Dr. Boas dramatically placed emphasis on the wellbeing of her staff instead of trying to put Caesar at ease. Lastly, Dr. Boas felt the need to give a five minute lecture on putting Caesar on medication because he was stressed. I do not feel a 5-10 minute vet visit warrants such extreme measures. Furthermore, if staff did feel unsafe the standard is to wrap the animal in a towel, which was there to use. Moreover, towels are typically placed in the basket outside with calming scents for ease the anxiety of cats which there were none. I continue to work with Caesar on his anxiety as every creature has their issues, but Caesar did not deserve that. I hope Dr. Boas continues to strengthen her professionalism and skills to better serve this population.

The vet techs in this clinic are what are going to cause you to lose patients. After much time and work we felt confident going into this appointment with communications with Val and Dr. Boas. We were greeted by great receptionists who were very friendly and helped get Banjo s wait done and even asked how they could help get it done easier. Our tech walked in after almost a half hour shaking and on the verge of tears-not sure if this was because of something that happened in a previous appointment or fear of Banjo. Every time she walked in she was more anxious which created a worse reaction in our dog. She also took him out of the room and told us to muzzle him further worsening his reaction and hyping up his heartrate. Our dog has been sedated for his eye appts and chiropractic and never had these issues. But every time the tech would leave and come back in he would get more anxious. All of this was outside of the plan the doctor had developed. Finally after a blanket over the eyes and telling the dr he just needed some time she was able to do the exam. She was wonderful as always and even apologized for us waiting as she had another patient not doing well. After his appointment we had a different tech who went over the discharge paperwork with me. She was great until I asked the question if there was a way we could improve waiting in the future as the room itself is what causes our dog the most anxiety I stated I understood emergencies come up and we don t care if our appointment is at 7am and he can t be seen until 10am but we would prefer to have him outside walking around rather than in the room or the lobby to keep the anxiety down. She responded with to be quite frank with you he needs to be medicated when I told her we had medicated him as prescribed she said he needs to be on more medicines and at a much higher dosage. She also tried to discuss with me triggers like car keys and the night before even though I explained it was the room itself as he has no problems with staff in the lobby. She asked if I wanted his bloodwork and I said yes, I saw one was high and asked if I should have concerns she said I would get paperwork after that explained it all. Knowing she had another patient and based on the interaction I didn t follow up anymore and quickly left. There are wonderful people at the clinic like the receptionists and the doctors. We have had good techs which have made a world of difference in our dogs visits. But between the first tech on the phone and the two at the visit we have decided the risk of bad ones are too much of an effect on the visit to risk going to this clinic anymore for services. We will be leaving glowing reviews on Google about Dr. Boas and other doctors we have had and the reception staff. We will not say anything about the bad techs but we hope this helps your practice develop more in the right direction for patients in the future.

Cash (Brown Lab mix - James O Donnell) gets very nervous/aggressive at the Vet. I m assuming he can feel the stress of other animals that have been though there and goes full flight/fight. However, I would like his teeth looked at and possibly cleaned and his nails trimmed. He will let me trim his nails but when I did it his nail blead pretty good (it didn t seem to bother him but it makes a mess). He is also very prone to ear infections. Question: Could you just sedate him next visit? I gave him the meds prior to the past visit but they didn t seem to do anything while he was there.....he did crash after and was drowsy prior. The last visit for his ear infection he was just sedated so you could do your work, that seemed to be the best. Could this happen for every visit?
