Thought doctor was though and nice

Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Sunnycrest Animal Care Center due to two significant issues that have compromised the safety and well-being of my dog. The first incident occurred during a routine dental cleaning. My dog underwent the standard procedure, and without prior notice or consultation, they decided to extract a cracked tooth. With a proper referral to a dental specialist, the tooth could have been saved instead of removed, which was deeply disappointing. The second, more recent issue involved surgery to remove a mass near her breast and spaying. We chose the higher-cost laser surgery option, expecting a quicker and less painful recovery. However, Sunnycrest failed to inform us that the operating doctor was not trained to use the laser equipment. While we were told the surgery went well, my dog began bleeding four days later as her stitches unraveled. The staff blamed my dog for licking the wound, despite her wearing a gown the entire time, which prevented access to the surgical site. In addition, when we rushed back to Sunnycrest to address the bleeding and early signs of infection, they charged us for the follow-up care despite the issue stemming from their inadequate stitching. Unfortunately, the problem persisted, and the next day, my dog started bleeding again. We had to take her to the emergency room, where the ER vet confirmed that Sunnycrest had not properly stitched the wound or effectively cleaned the infection. My dog required another surgery and an overnight stay at the ER. Thankfully, after this procedure, her recovery improved significantly, and the quality of care at the ER was noticeably superior to that provided by Sunnycrest. While I initially appreciated Sunnycrest, these experiences have completely eroded my trust in their care. Sadly, they have lost us as clients.

Our fears about first time boarding our 7 1/2 year old rottweiler were all for nothing. We will definitely be coming back. We have already recommended you to our friends and family. Thank you for your care !

This was a follow up appt and Dr Glassberg and staff were very helpful and Informative in what the next steps we would implement

My only complaint is, I was suppose to receive estimates for services needed. I still haven’t received anytiing.

It would be wise to share the cost of a surgery/treatment for low/high value. But also provide a list of the doctors who can actually do the procedure based on the selection we want!

Staff are always friendly and helpful and Dr. Dimitra is always sensitive to my and my cats needs and she is knowledgeable and professional.

This is the first time that I was not in the exam room when care was rendered to our pets. I do not know why. The technician spoke to the doctor about issues with our cat and summarized what was said to them. I thought it was unusual. The other issue was that this was the 2nd time we did not receive the receipt via email. Otherwise, it is good to see Erin and Dr. G! Thank you!

First experience with grooming and very pleased with service provided

I was previously with Dr. Voorhees at Washington Animal Hospital. After he retired it took me a while to find a new vet. But I finally found you and I could not be happier. ??????

Awesome staff and doctors!

I should of asked to go in the room with the technician. He didn t offer and by the time I thought it through he was done with giving the vaccine. I asked where she was given the injection and was told its an oral vaccine.

We came in in an emergency situation, and everyone was so caring and great! Dr. Alice was so caring and explained everything well... But John, the vet asst. was amazing. He really went above and beyond with his care and time. We couldn t have asked for better care! We will probably swing by on our walks so Nala can say hi to her friend John.

Shadow was boarded at your facility so did not see a doctor but did see a technician. I feel comfortable leaving him there.

Appt went well and took care of routine labs, vit D check and follow up for eye issue Dr Glassberg was very helpful as always along with staff

If you are going to sedate a dog for any reason please either verbally explain possible side effects of sedation or provide a handout. I was alarmed when my dog kept vomiting water. Please also let the owner know if a follow up appt is needed without having to ask. Thanks

I took my cat for grooming. For some reason when I got her home, she was limping on her left hind leg. Any idea what brought that on? She s doing better now, but that has never happened before!

My dog, Nikki,is a rescue, abused , abandoned in the woods, with PTSD. I have her for 3 months, making good progress. She is very scared but very cooperative and sweet. Dr. Tomko and staff members were very kind.
